With great sadness, I need to report that Ruby McClay passed away on Saturday 15th of February. She was the oldest living person in Northern Ireland and my grandmother.
So it turns out that Ruby may have been older than everyone realised. On registering her death, my sister was informed that according to written church records, her year of birth was 1914, not 1915 as per her birth certificate!
We're working to get a copy of those records and understand the correct information.
