Elder Aaron Bazemore (20 February 1881 – 10 April 1992) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group in 2024 and given the retroactive date of 2018. He is the oldest known man ever from the state of North Carolina.
Biography[]
Aaron Bazemore was born in Windsor, North Carolina, USA on 20 February 1881, the seventh child of John Jackson Bazemore and Charlotte (née Outlaw) Bazemore.
He attended Malone and Sams Chapel Schools in Bertie County, North Carolina.
He married Olive Outlaw and had 15 children (eight preceded him in death).
He was founder and former pastor of Bazemore Temple Church of God in Christ.
Aaron Bazemore died in Windsor, North Carolina, USA on 10 April 1992 at the age of 111 years, 50 days. He is survived by three daughters Mary Conwell, Willie Greaves and Vernice Brown; four sons John Bazemore, Barnabas Bazemore, Timothy Bazemore, and Samuel Bazemore.
