Ada Miller (née Cooper; 12 December 1903 – 16 February 2015) was a British-American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of death, she was the second-oldest known living person in the US state of Ohio (behind Edith Erdman), and the oldest living British emigrant.

Biography[]

Ada Miller was born as Ada Cooper in Southampton, Hampshire, England, UK on 12 December 1903. Her parents were Harry and Annie Cooper. She emigrated in Hudson, USA with her half-brother William and her sister Kathleen in 1904. She graduated from Western Reserve Academy in 1924. She married Lloyd Miller in 1927.

She helped her mother arrange flowers in the Coopers Flower Shop and Greenhouse. She continued to arrange flowers until she retired in 2003 and moved into the Hudson Elms Assisted Living. She also served on the Hudson School Board for four decades and was the School Board President for 25 years.

Ada Miller died in Hudson, Ohio, USA on 16 February 2015 at the age of 111 years, 66 days. She was survived by one daughter Nancy Anne Rodgers; two granddaughters Kathleen Cleaves, and Cynthia Belgorod; one grandson John Rodgers; and five great-grandchildren.
