Ada Matilda Sharp (née Carr; 6 April 1861 – 15 May 1971) was an Australian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest Australian person ever. Her age is actually disputed.
Biography[]
Ada Sharp was born as Ada Matilda Carr in Victoria, Australia on 6 April 1861. At the age of 102, she was still able to walk without a cane. She resided in Nollamara, a suburb of Perth in Western Australia.
Ada Sharp died in Nollamara, Perth, Western Australia, Australia on 15 May 1971, at the age of 110 years, 39 days. She had five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
