Adelina Chelles Chevitarese (née de Carvalho Chelles; 8 June 1903 – 29 January 2015) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2021.

Biography[]

Adelina de Carvalho Chelles was born in Sabara, Minas Gerais, Brazil on 8 June 1903. Her parents were Adolpho Chelles (1870–1970) and Adelia de Carvalho (1880–1973). She had 15 siblings.

She married Salvador Chevitarese on 20 Jul 1956 in Rio de Janeiro City, Rio de Janeiro State. The couple not had any children. Her husband died in Rio de Janeiro on 1 June 1998.

Members of her family had also experienced longevity: her paternal grandfather Pedro Jose do Espirito Santo Chelles (1835–c.1937) lived to be circa 102, her father lived to be 100, her mother lived to be 93 and her brother Jose de Carvalho Chelles (1901–2001) lived to be 100.

Adelina Chelles Chevitarese died in Rio de Janeiro City, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil on 29 January 2015 at the age of 111 years, 235 days.
