Adelina da Costa (10 March 1910? – 4 November 2025) was a Cape Verdean longevity claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). If her claimed age were validated, she would have been the oldest known living person in Cape Verde at the time of her death. She would also be the oldest person ever from Cape Verde.

Biography[]

Adelina da Costa claimed to have been born in Cape Verde (then Portuguese Cape Verde) on 10 March 1910. She had five children, only one of whom, a daughter was still alive as of her claimed 115th birthday in March 2025.

In March 2020, she celebrated her claimed 110th birthday. At that time, she had six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She is known as "Nha Leska".

On 7 April 2021, at the claimed age of 111, she received her first dose of the Oxford–AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

She may have become the oldest known living person in Cape Verde, following the death of 111-year-old Maria Francisca Goraz on 24 July 2021.

Adelina da Costa died in Praia, Cape Verde, on 4 November 2025 at the claimed age of 115 years, 239 days.
