Marie Adella Freo (née Flamand; 5 November 1900 – 28 December 2010) was a Canadian-born American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Adella Freo was born in Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage, Quebec, Canada on 5 November 1900 in a family of twelve siblings. She and her family moved from Canada to the United States in 1913, settling in Concord, New Hampshire. She worked full-time in the yarn mills in West-Concord. Freo was married in her 20s, but already became a widow in her 30s. She had one son, Richard.
On her 110th birthday, she had family and friends from all over New England coming over. She celebrated the proclamation by the governor and mayor's offices, being provided a key to Concord as being the oldest resident of New Hampshire at the time.
Adella Freo died at the Harris Hill Center in Concord, New Hampshire, United States on 28 December 2010 at the age of 110 years, 53 days.
Her age was verified by Anson Davis, Mark Muir and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, and (posthumously) validated by the GRG on 19 April 2016.
