Adolf "Dolfe" Lund (20 June 1912 – 26 November 2010) was a nonagenarian from the Danish autonomous territory of Greenland, who is currently the fifth-oldest known man ever from Greenland.
Biography[]
Christian Adolf "Dolfe" Lund was born on 20 June 1912 in Alluitsup Paa, Greenland to Henning Jakob Henrik Lund and Malene Lund. His father wrote the lyrics to "Nunarput utoqqarsuanngorvait", which later became Greenland's national anthem. Adolf likely grew up in Lund cottage, which later became part of the Narsaq museum. On 6 June 1977, his mother, Malene, became the first Greenlander centenarian, and is now the third-oldest Greenlander ever.
Lund died in Narsaq, Kujalleq, Greenland on 26 November 2010 at the age of 98 years, 159 days.
Record[]
From somewhere between 13 July/12 August 2010 to 16 June 2012 he held the record for oldest man ever from Greenland at the same time that his mother held the record for oldest person ever from Greenland. Though, unofficial, this is likely the only known instance of the extremely improbable case of a mother and son holding the national/territorial record for both genders. Malene's record was broken by Agnethe Fencker on 16 June 2012 while Adolf's was broken on 31 July 2017 by Anton Geisler.
