Biography

Adrienne Ledent was born in Habay, Wallonia, Belgium on 13 December 1899. She lived her entire life in that village.

Adrienne married Camille Alphonse Halbardier in 1922, with whom she would have one child, Jean, who Adrienne outlived. After an accident at work, Mr. Halbardier died on 24 November 1926. Later, she remarried with Georges Gavroy in 1931, with whom she would have no children.

Adrienne moved to retirement home Le Vivier at age 93. At her 100th birthday, she wasn't able to communicate with other people anymore. Though she would've remained healthy and was never sick until her death, she was mentally growing weaker.

Eventually, Adrienne Ledent passed away on 23 June 2011 at the age of 111 years, 192 days. At the time of her death, she was the third oldest Belgian ever and the oldest person from Wallonia ever. Following her death, Germaine Degueldre took over the title of oldest living person in Belgium.
