Agnes Sultan (née Nordström; 15 December 1889 – 4 September 2000) was Swedish-American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Agnes Sultan was born as Agnes Maria Nordström in Amsele, Vindelns kommun, Västerbotten County, Sweden on 15 December 1889. She was the first of 10 children born to Gustaf Erick Nordstrom (1862–1943) and Eva Johanna Nilsson Nordstrom (1867–1961). Her and her oldest brother Axel came to the United States with their parents from Sweden on a sailing ship "Gallia" in 1892. She lived in Kulm, North Dakota in her youth, then married and moved to Canada, raised two children, her and her husband Alfred Sultan owned and operated a fish camp at lake Kawkawa, British Columbia, Canada.
In December 1999, Sultan celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
Agnes Sultan died in Oceanside, San Diego County, California, USA on 4 September 2000 at the age of 110 years, 264 days.
Sultan's age was verified by Jason King, Nick Erriksson, Daniel Gonik, and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, and (posthumously) validated by the GRG on 7 May 2016.
