Ai Iwabuchi [Japanese: 岩渕あい] (24 February 1913 – fl.1 January 2024) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Ai Iwabuchi was born in Japan on 24 February 1913. In February 2023, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian. At that time, she lived in a nursing home in Hirosaki City.
Ai Iwabuchi was last confirmed alive in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, Japan on 1 January 2024, at the age of 110 years, 311 days. In September 2024, she went to limbo, as 111-year-old Masae Asaishi (born 9 August 1913) was reported to be the oldest living person in Aomori Prefecture.
