Ai Kawasaki [Japanese: 河崎愛] (10 November 1880 – 1 October 1991) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024.
Biography[]
Ai Kawasaki was born in Japan on 10 November 1880. She lived in the nursing home Ryokujuen [Japanese: 緑寿園] in Tokyo.
Following the death of 109-year-old Tatsu Sato in April 1990, Kawasaki became the oldest living person in Tokyo.
Ai Kawasaki died of heart failure in Hoya (now Nishitokyo), Tokyo, Japan on 1 October 1991, at the age of 110 years, 325 days. At the time of her death, she was the fifth-oldest living person in Japan, after Waka Shirahama, Tane Ikai, Take Abe, and Hide Ohira.
