Aki Iizuka [Japanese: 飯塚アキ] (11 September 1900 – 20 January 2011) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Aki Iizuka was born in Japan on 11 September 1900. Since September 2004, she was reported to be the oldest living person in Fujioka (now Tochigi City).
Following the death of 111-year-old Aki Onozaki on 18 February 2010, Iizuka became the oldest living person in Tochigi Prefecture. In September 2010, she celebrated her 110th birthday.
Aki Iizuka died in Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan on 20 January 2011 at the age of 110 years, 131 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Tochigi Prefecture. Her age was verified by Japan's MHLW and Tom Li, and validated by the GRG on 3 March 2011.
