Albert Beiso (25 March 1920 – 21 June 2021) was a Gibraltarian centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Gibraltar at the time of his death.
Biography[]
Albert Beiso was born in Gibraltar on 25 March 1920. In late 1940s, started working as a fireman for Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service. He had at least one daughter: Gladys Beiso-Ryan.
Beiso also served as a football player for Gibraltar national football team. His side also managed a draw with Real Madrid in 1949. He normally wore the number 10.
He left the fire brigade in 1970.
In March 2020, he celebrated his 100th birthday. On 11 January 2021 at the age of 100, he received his first dose of the Pfizer/BionTech vaccine. On 1 February, he received his second dose.
Beiso died in Gibraltar on 21 June 2021 at the age of 101 years, 88 days. He is the second-oldest known man ever from Gibraltar, after John Sciacaluga.
