Longevity claimant

Alexandra Dolghier (14 March 1909? - 17 January 2023) was a Moldovan supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Alexandra Dolghier claimed to have been born in Slobozia Noua, Soroca District, Russian Empire (now Moldova) on 14 March 1909. She went through war and famine, and buried her husband, brothers, and all of her children after they all died. Her house was allegedly burnt down five times.

With little to no help at all, Dolghier tries to get through each day with a pension of only 1,400 Moldovan leu, after having previously worked for a long time until retiring at the claimed age of 100.

In March 2019, Dolghier celebrated her claimed 110th birthday.

Dolghier said she has lived very long because she hasn't taken any pills or had any special foods throughout her entire life, as well as receiving great care from her nephew's wife, and having a history of good genes in the family.

Dolghier was blind, and suffered from poor hearing. Although the Agency for Public Services claimed that she is the oldest person in Moldova, she said that she is not happy that she was recognized by the agency.

Alexandra Dolghier died on 17 January 2023 in Soroca District, Moldova, at the claimed age of 113 years, 309 days. If her claimed age were true, she would have been the oldest known living person in Moldova, as well as the second-oldest known person ever born in present-day Moldova, behind Goldie Steinberg.
