Alexandre Bestavachvili (1 November 1908 – 17 March 2017) was a Georgian-born British centenarian.
Biography[]
Alexandre Bestavachvili was born in Gori, central Georgia on 1 November 1908. In 1929 he fled to Turkey and later he moved to France where he lived seven years. During World War II he emigrated to London, England where he met his wife Thora whom he married in 1944. In 1952 he was elected president of the Georgian Association of England.[1]
Alexandre Bestavachvili died in London, England on 17 March 2017 at the age of 108 years, 136 days.[2] If his age is true, he could be oldest known man ever born in Georgia.
