Biography[]
Alexandrine Bourree was born as Alexandrine Fermin in Manche, Normandy, France on 5 June 1904. She married Emile Bourree [French: Émile Bourrée] in 1931 and they lived in his farm in La Bazuraie, Husson, Manche. The couple had a daughter, Marie, in 1936, who later married Georges Lebrun.
Emile Bourree died in 1960, making Alexandrine a widow. Alexandrine continued to work on the farm until 1983, when she moved in with her daughter and her son-in-law. She remained with them for 27 years, until 2010, when she moved into a nursing home.
On her 110th birthday in 2014, she had a daughter, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson, who visited her almost every day. Her daughter Marie was 78 when Alexandrine turned 110.
