Alexis Daigneau (4 August 1890 – 3 April 2001) was an French supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At time of his death, he was the oldest known living French veteran of the First World War.
Biography[]
Alexis Daigneau was born in Saint-Maurice-la-Fougereuse, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France on 4 August 1890. He was organist of the church in Thouars until the age of 93.
He became the oldest known living man in France following the death of 109 year-old Theophane Rifosta on 16 June 1999.
Daigneau died in Thouars, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France on 3 April 2001 at the age of 110 years, 242 days. Following his death, 109-year-old Raymond Abescat became the oldest known living man in France.
