Alice Amelia Tomlinson (neé Goldsmith; 25 May 1911 – 5 April 2019) was an English centenarian who was the oldest person from Isle of Wight at the time of her death. She was the great-aunt of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Biography[]

Alice Amelia Tomlinson was born as Alice Amelia Goldsmith in England, UK on 25 May 1911 to Stephen Charles Goldsmith and Edith Chandler. Her youngest brother, Ronald Goldsmith (1931–2003) was the father of Carole Middleton and the grandfather of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

She married William Tomlinson in 1929. The couple had at least two daughters Patricia Charman and Linda Burman. After the Second World War, her husband set up a haulage company.

Tomlinson died in Isle of Wight, England, UK on 5 April 2019 at the age of 107 years, 315 days. She had never met her famous great-niece. She was survived by two daughters Patricia Charman and Linda Burman and their families.
