Alice Abbey Moulthrop (née McCubbin; 15 November 1858 – 24 November 1968) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Alice Moulthrop was born as Alice Abbey McCubbin in Shamrock, Callaway County, Missouri, USA on 15 November 1858. Her parents were Thomas Lingan McCubbin and Elizabeth McCubbin nee Shoemaker.

Her parents lived also to became nonagenarians.

Five of her siblings, reached 90 years: Mrs. W. T. Scholl died on 6 September 1951 aged 97, Mr. Charles Austin McCubbin died on 4 December 1955 aged 93, Mr. Joseph Edwin MacCubbin died on 9 March 1959 aged 91, Mrs. Jennie Shelton died on 21 September 1963 aged 94 and Mrs. Nannie Kemp died on 11 February 1969 aged 97.

On 10 November 1881, Alice married William Birch Henry Moulthrop and they had three children. One of their children, Roscoe Emmett Arlington Moulthrop, died a few days before his 100th birthday. Alice was widowed on June 6, 1944. She later moved to Kansas. At the age of 108 she was believed to be oldest known living resident of Callaway County by local newspapers in 1966.

On 16 November 1968, one day after her 110th birthday, she became ill with pneumonia. Eight days later, Alice Moulthrop died in Fulton, Callaway County, Missouri, Kansas, USA at the age of 110 years, 9 days. She had lived at a nursing home for some time. Her son lived to be 99 year old Roscoe Emmett Arlington Moulthrop, Sr. (11 Apr 1890-13 Mar 1990) and daughter Grace Evangeline Lohoefener, 97 years (31 Mar 1885-5 Mar 1983)
