Alicia Teresa "Nani" Benet De Ramirez Bages (née Benet Y Espinosa; 11 November 1911 – 30 April 2020) was a Puerto Rican centenarian who one of the oldest known people in Puerto Rico when she died.
Biography[]
Alicia Benet was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on 11 November 1911. Her parents were Jose Benet Y Colon and Fidela Espinosa Matos. She had six siblings. She moved to New York City, New York State, USA in 1926.
She married Mariano Hector Ramirez Bages in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on 6 September 1933. The couple had at least three children: Alicia Lavergne (born c.1935), Marion Raffa (1938–2017) and Mariano Ramirez.
She moved to Rio de Janeiro City, Rio de Janeiro State, Brasil in 1962. At the some point in life, she returned to Puerto Rico.
Benet died in San Juan, Puerto Rico on 30 April 2020 at the age of 108 years, 171 days. At time of her death, she had many grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
