Alicia Castillo (28 January 1906 – 25 September 2018) was a Colombian supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2022.

Biography[]

Alicia Castillo was born in Girardot, Cundinamarca, Colombia on 28 January 1906. She never married, but had at least two daughters. She moved to Cali, Valle del Cauca, when she was 70 years old. In her supercentenarian years, she suffered from dementia. However, she was always able to recognize her two daughters. At the age of 112, she was still able to walk a bit around while assisted by someone. She gained media attention in national news after her medication was denied by her assurance due to her being older than 110. At the age of 111, the maximal age for her assurance was increased.

Castillo died in Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia on 25 September 2018 at the age of 112 years, 240 days.
