Alton Everett Gilbert (11 June 1878 – 21 January 1989) was a validated American supercentenarian. He is the oldest validated man ever who died in the U.S. state of Washington.
Biography[]
Alton Everett Gilbert was born in Manistee, Michigan, USA on 11 June 1878. His parents were Sylvester H. Gilbert and Adelia Martha Mckeen. He married Frances Manette Pinkerton on 25 December 1911, in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Later he married Alberta I. Burmeister on 2 August 1922, in Livingston, Park, Montana, United States. He had two children, Frances Fern Gilbert Allen (1913 - 2012) and Donald Byron Gilbert (1923 - 2016). He was widowed in 1961.
Alton Gilbert died in Snohomish, Washington, USA on 21 January 1989. At the time of his death, he was the oldest man in the United States.
