Amalie-Vilhelmine Saia (née Määrits; 24 February 1910 – 3 October 2016) was an Estonian centenarian who was the oldest living woman in Estonia since the death of Elle Malberg on 16 December 2015.
Biography
Amalie-Vilhelmine Saia was born in Viljandi, Viljandimaa, Governorate of Estonia, Russian Empire (now Estonia) on 24 February 1910. Her parents were Jaan Maarits and Miina (née Kuus) Maarits. She had six siblings. Her father died in 1913 at the age of 43 and her mother in 1919 at the age of 44. She married Hugo Saia.
Amalie-Vilhelmine Saia died in Rongu, Tartumaa, Estonia on 3 October 2016 at the age of 106 years, 222 days.
