Cleufe Amarillide Paliani Bufalini (27 November 1876 – 15 May 1990) was an Italian-American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Amarillide Bufalini was born in Patrica, Lazio, Italy on 27 November 1876. Her parents were Giuseppe and Sabrina Montini Paliasi. She worked as a farmer in Italy. Her husband was Saverio Bufalini. The couple had three daughters and one son. She became a widow in 1925, after the death of Saverio.
At the age of 90, she emigrated to the United States, residing in Eastchester, New York. She might have been the oldest living person in the United States between the death of Birdie May Vogt on 23 July 1989 and her own death nearly ten months later.
Bufalini died of pneumonia in New York, USA, on 15 May 1990 at the age of 113 years, 169 days. At the time of her death, she was also the oldest Italian-born person ever until Amalia Barone broke this record in 1998.
