Amelia Addari (born 25 March 1912 - 20 July 2024) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Amelia Addari was born in Genoni, Sardinia, Italy on 25 March 1912. Her parents were Pietro Addari and Marietta Piroddi-Addari. She had six siblings: Giovanna, Amerigo, Ranieri, Pietro, Letizia, and Tullio. She was baptized on 8 April 1912.

Her oldest brother Amerigo Addari died at the age of 101 and her oldest sister Giovanna Addari (24 June 1910 – 22 July 2020) died at the age of 110 years, 28 days, making them one of the oldest siblings on record.

Addari never married. Her hobbies included bobbin lace, crochet, embroidery, knitting with needles, and floriculture. For the past several years, she had been assisted around the clock by caretakers.

In March 2022, she celebrated her 110th birthday.

Addari died on 20 July 2024 in Nuragus, Sardinia, Italy, at the age of 112 years 117 days. She was the oldest known living person in Sardinia, the oldest woman to ever live in Sardinia, and the third-oldest person to ever live in Sardinia after Antonio Todde and Giovanni Frau.
