Amparo Cora de Santiago (23 September 1903 – 2 January 2016) was a Puerto Rican supercentenarian whose age is validated by Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Puerto Rico.
Biography[]
Amparo Cora de Santiago was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico on 23 September 1903.
In 1934, she married Miguel Angel Santiago.
In September 2013, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
She became the oldest known living person in Puerto Rico, following the death of 110-year-old Maria Mojica Torres on 30 April 2014.
Amparo Cora de Santiago died in Carolina, Puerto Rico on 2 January 2016 at the age of 112 years, 101 days. Her age was verified by James Roberts and Stefan Maglov, and validated by LAS on 17 November 2022. The validation was later accepted by LongeviQuest (LQ).
