Ana Igitol (née Lian; 3 March 1914 – 3 April 2018) was a centenarian from the Northern Mariana Islands, an overseas territory of the United States. She could be the oldest person ever from the Northern Mariana Islands.
Biography[]
Ana Lian was born on 3 March 1914 in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. Her mother was Rosalia Lian (née Aitt). On 12 October 1935, she married Pablo N. Igitol (1912–1998) in Nuestra Senora Bithen Delos Remedios in Tanapag. They had 14 children. Her husband died on 31 March 1998, at the age of 85.
Ana became the oldest known living person on the Northern Mariana Islands following the death of a 97-year-old person in March 2011.
Ana Igitol died on 3 April 2018 in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands at the age of 104 years, 31 days. She was survived by 6 children: Pedro “Pete”, David, Delfina, Martin, Leonisa and Rosa. At the time of death, she also had 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was buried on Mount Carmel Cemetery in Marpi, Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.
