Anastasie Charles (26 April 1914 - 22 May 2024), known as Ma Maggie, was a Dominican supercentenarian who at the date of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Dominica. Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024
Biography[]
Anastasie Charles was born in Wesley, Dominica on 26 April 1914. She had 10 siblings (all now deceased as of May 2014). She worked as a farmer and a housemaid on the Londonderry Estate.
As of May 2014, she has four grandsons and one granddaughter, and five grandchildren.
She became the oldest known living person in Dominica, following the death of 107-year-old Elizabeth Auguiste on 15 October 2021. In April 2024 she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
Charles died in Wesley, Dominica in 22 may 2024 at the age of 110 years, 26 days.
