Andres Irizarry Troche (born 14 February 1915) is a Puerto Rican centenarian who is currently the oldest known living man in Puerto Rico, after the death of Silverio Perez Rosado.
Biography
Mr. Irizarry Troche was born in the town of Hormigueros, Puerto Rico on 14 February 1915. As a child, Mr. Irizarry Troche wanted to become a doctor or lawyer, but his father pulled him out of school to become a sugarcane cutter. As an adult, he did jobs such as providing home services as a barber, and working as a cook in a hotel. Mr. Irizarry Troche is also described as a talented musician, but commented that today's modern music is vulgar, and he prefers music from when he was a young man. It was noted that at the time of his 107th birthday in 2022, he lacked any notable health issues, such as diabetes or high blood pressure. He was also said to drink 2 thermoses of coffee a day, and enjoyed relaxing in his hammock.
He became the oldest known living man in Puerto Rico, following the death of 109-year-old Silverio Perez Rosado on 25 April 2024.
Irizarry Troche currently lives in Rincón, Puerto Rico at the age of 109 years, 292 days.
