Andrija Prlic [Croatian: Andrija Prlić] (11 November 1907 – 2 July 2013) was a Bosnian-born Croatian centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Croatia at the time of his death.

Biography[]

Andrija Prlic was born in the village of Sovici, West Herzegovina Canton, Austria-Hungary (present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina), on 11  November 1907. In 1954 he came with his family to Slavonia, Croatia, where they also lived.

He survived three great wars, lived in several countries, in Austro-Hungary, the State of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, SFRY, the Republic of Croatia, and experienced Croatia's entry into the European Union. He had about 80 descendants, and for the last 15 years, since his wife died, he lived alone. Andrija and Marija had 12 children, the oldest child at the time of his death was 81, the youngest 55 years.

On 15 September 2012, following the death of 106-year-old Mateo Palaversic, he became the oldest known living man in Croatia.

Andrija Prlic died in the village of Velika Kopanica, Brod-Posavina County, Croatia, on 2 July 2013 at the age of 105 years, 233 days. Following the his death, then-103-year-old Nikola Barkovic became the oldest known living man in Croatia.
