Angel Alberto Rengifo Cerquera [Spanish: Ángel] (31 December 1891?/3 June 1912 – fl. 22 August 2006) was a debunked Colombian supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Angel Alberto Rengifo Cerquera claimed that he was born in village of Manombre, Chaparral, Tolima, Colombia on 31 December 1891. He was last reported to be alive on 22 August 2006 at the claimed age of 114 years, 231 days when he lived in Ibague, Colombia.[1] His age was debunked by the Latin American Supercentenarian Organization (LAS) and it was found that he was 20 years younger than claimed and that he was actually born on 3 June 1912, not 1891 as he claimed.[2]
