Anieta Gregory (24 December 1910 – 27 January 2021) was a Jamaican-born Canadian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Anieta Gregory was born in Main Ridge, Clarendon, Jamaica on 27 January 1911 (claimed 24 December 1910), the third child of eight children to David and Naomi.

She married Robert Gregory in 1941. The couple had six children: Darleen, Hermon, Avis, Enid, Denzil and Carlton.

In 1961, she founded a basic school for children ranging in ages from 3-6 years in Main Ridge. Her husband died around 1982. She retired in 1989 and moved to Canada to join her children.

In December 2020, she celebrated her 110th birthday, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, her grandson Garfield Levy could not visit her.

Gregory died in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada 11 December 2021 at the age of 110 years, 318 days. She was survived by five children, 21 grandchildren (including Garfield Levy) and 23 great-grandchildren.
