Anita Tiburni (3 May 1900 – 27 December 2011) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the fifth-oldest living person in Italy, after Stella Nardari-Vecchiato, Maria Redaelli, Emma Morano, and Maria Gravigi.

Biography[]

Anita Tiburni was born in Poggibonsi, Tuscany, Italy on 3 May 1900. As a young woman, she worked as a newsagent, then as a worker in a cork factory in Poggibonsi.

Tiburni never married nor had children, and always lived with her sister Beatrice in Poggibonsi. She opened a haberdashery with her sister, which was destroyed during World War II bombings in December 1943. In 1992, thirteen years after the death of her sister in 1979, she moved in the nursing home Dina Gandini in Poggibonsi.

Tiburni's age was verified by Paolo Scarabaggio, and validated by the GRG on 25 July 2010.

Anita Tiburni died in Poggibonsi, Tuscany, Italy on 27 December 2011, at the age of 111 years, 238 days.
