Ann(e) Clark (1 June 1824? – 11 February 1941) was an American longevity claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Ann Clark claimed to have been born in Mississippi, USA on 1 June 1824 as a slave. She had two masters in her lifetime before she was freed in Memphis, Tennessee. She never married but had two children.
Clark was interviewed in 1937, at the claimed age of 112. At the time, her eyesight was good enough that she could sew without glasses. Her story was published in "Born in Slavery: Slave Narratives from the Federal Writers' Project, 1936-1938 – Texas Narratives, Volume XVI, Part 1". Near the end of her life, she was almost deaf.
Anne Clark died of senility in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas, USA on 11 February 1941, at the claimed age of 116 years, 255 days.
