Anna S. Bechler (28 September 1907 – 29 July 2020) was a German-born American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest known German-born person from the 25 April 2020 death of Louise Schaaf until her own death.
Biography[]
Anna Bechler was born in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany, on 28 September 1907. Her parents were Franz and Johanna. She had two sisters, Rosa and Johanna. She emigrated to New York in 1931. She worked there for 10 years before moving to Sarasota in 1945.
At the some point in her life, she married Louis Bechler. They had one daughter, Johanna Chuchro. She died in Sarasota, Florida, United States, on 29 July 2020 at the claimed age of 112 years, 305 days. At the time of death, she had 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is among the top 10 oldest people ever born in Germany.
Her age was validated by Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on 16 March 2020.
