Anna Cernohorsky (13 September 1909 – 18 September 2022) was a Czech-born German supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Germany, as well as the oldest known person ever born in the Czech Republic.

Biography[]

Anna Cernohorsky was born in Malesov, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary (present-day Czech Republic) on 13 September 1909. She married her husband Gottlieb in 1931.

Following the end of World War II, her family was expelled from Malesov and found a new home in Bautzen in 1946. Cernohorsky worked as a tailor. She had three children: Josef Cernohorsky (1938–2010), Gottlieb Cernohorsky (1934–2020) and Ursula. She made handicrafts until old age.

Until the age of 102, she lived on her own in her own apartment. She celebrated her 110th birthday in September 2019.

During her last years, Cernohorsky suffered from dementia.

Cernohorsky died in Bautzen, Saxony, Germany, on 18 September 2022, at the age of 113 years, 5 days. She was survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living Czech-born person, the oldest known living person in Saxony, and the oldest known living person in Germany (since the death of 113-year old Josefine Ollmann on 16 July 2022).
