Anna Krslencova [Slovakian: Anna Kršlencová] (16 May 1856 – 12 January 1967) was a Slovakian-born Czech supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Europe.
Biography[]
Anna Krslencova was born in Vysoka nad Kysucou, Cadca District, Austria-Hungary (now Slovakia) on 16 May 1856. Her parents were poor peasants. She moved to Northern Bohemia in 1895. According to article in "Lidová demokracie" she was not married, but she took care for her brother's children. According to article in "Květy" she never went to school, was not married but took care for her sister's children.
She became the oldest known living person in Europe, following the death of 110-year-old Hannah Smith on 10 January 1966.
Anna Krslencova died in Dolni Zleb, Decin District, Czechoslovakia (present-day Czech Republic) on 12 January 1967 at the age of 110 years, 241 days. Following her death, then 110-year-old John Mosley Turner became the oldest known living person in Europe.
