Anna Kutt (née Leosk; 18 February 1911 – 10 December 2018) was an Estonian centenarian who was the oldest living person in Estonia since the death of Maria Kolk on 6 June 2018, until her own death.
Biography
Kutt was born in the village of Aheru, Valga County, Russian Empire (now Estonia) on 18 February 1911. Her parents were Jaan Leosk and Elisabeth Leosk (née Susi). She had two older brothers, Kapiton and Vladimir. As she had obligations on the farm, she attended only five classes of the village school. Anna married Jaan Arbeiter (1903–1938). In 1934, they moved to Valka, a town in present-day Latvia. The couple had one son, Rahuleid. Her husband died of pneumonia in 1938.
A few years later, she married Theodor Kutt. The couple had two children: Eha (born 1943) and Aare (born 1945). Her son, Aare, died in 1955, and next year, her husband also died. Kutt worked on the railway and for several decades has been a seller in a newspaper shop. Kutt was hospitalised the Valga Hospital in January 2017. She lived alone until then. On 6 June 2018, Kutt became the oldest living person in Estonia, following the death of Maria Kolk.
Kutt died in Valga, Valga County, Estonia on 10 December 2018 at the age of 107 years, 295 days.
