Anna Maria Giovanna Capozzo (24 January 1911 – 24 July 2021) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.
Biography[]
Capozzo was born on 24 January 1911 in Molinara, Campania, Italy. She married Rocco Luigi Baldino in 1932, and the couple had four children: Donata, Filippo, Cosimo, and Vincenzo. In 1953, Capozzo emigrated to the United States with her family, living in New York before returning to Italy in 1986. While in New York, Capozzo learned to speak English.
Capozzo lived in Molinara, Campania, Italy with her daughter Donata, and received help from her nephew Pietro and his wife Vera. Capozzo's other three children still live in the United States. In January 2021, Capozzo celebrated her 110th birthday.
Capozzo died in Molinara, Campania, Italy at the age of 110 years, 181 days.
