Anna Schwab (née Kurt; 6 February 1868 – 14 February 1978) was a Swiss-born American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography
Anna Schwab was born as Anna Kurt in Durrenroth, Switzerland on 6 February 1868 and emigrated to the USA at a young age. She married Fred Schwab in Delaware, Ohio in 1895. They had six children, three of whom lived past their 100th birthday. The family moved to Kansas in the 1890s and Schwab spent the remainder of her life in the area.
Anna Schwab attributed her longevity to hard work and trusting in God. She became supercentenarian on 6 February 1978. Anna Schwab died in Keats, Kansas on 14 February 1978, aged 110 years, 8 days.
