She married Fred Schwab in Delaware, Ohio in 1895 and had six children, three of them living past their 100th birthday. The family moved to Kansas in the 1890's and Schwab spent the remainder of her life in the area.

There was also a history of longevity in her family: her daughter Lily Schwab (4 September 1896 – 26 January 1997) lived to be 100 years, her son Philip Schwab (18 September 1902 – 20 February 2005) lived to be 102 years, her daughter Edna Goff (22 October 1903 – 28 June 2004) lived to be 100 years.
