Anna Wiesmayr (née Waldhor; 23 July 1908 – 23 September 2019) was an Austrian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest known living person in Austria from the passing of Anna Medwenitsch until her death.

Biography[]

Anna Waldhor was born in Franckstrasse, Linz, Upper Austria, Austria-Hungary (present-day Austria) on 23 July 1908. In her youth, she saw Franz Joseph in person when he traveled with train to Linz through Franckstrasse. Her first husband died in Russia during World War II. She married Rudolf Wiesmayr in Lustenau, Linz and had one son, Rudolf (born 1948). During the Second World War she worked at the post office in Kleinmunchen. She lived on her own in Kleinmunchen until the age of 99. Her husband died at the age of 88

Following the passing of Anna Medwenitsch on 1 April 2018, Wiesmayr became the oldest living person in Austria. On her 110th birthday in July 2018, she was completely deaf.

Wiesmayr died in Linz, Upper Austria, Austria on 23 September 2019 at the age of 111 years, 62 days. She may have been the oldest person who was born and died in present-day Austria.
