Anna Winiarska (born 23 February 1915) is an Austro-Hungarian-born Polish supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Anna Winiarska was born in Austria-Hungary, on 23 February 1915. She had four children (a daughter and three sons). During World War II, her family was displaced, and their home was destroyed by fire. Upon returning, they had to rebuild their lives from the ground up. She and her husband, Józef, supported themselves through farming.
Her diet consisted of simple, natural foods that the family grew themselves. A devout woman throughout her life, she remained deeply connected to her faith, with a priest from the local parish visiting her monthly in her centenarian years. She was reportedly hospitalized only twice in her entire life. According to her son, Kazimierz, even after turning 100, she had perfect eyesight and could still thread a needle on her own. She was the first in her family to live beyond 90. Her parents passed away in their 60s, and she outlived all her siblings.
On 23 February 2025 she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian, third one in the modern history of Subcarpathia Voivodeship, after Ludwika Kosztyla of Brzozów and Aleksandra Dranka of Harklowa.
At the age of 110, she had 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. she currently lives in Huta Gogołowska, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland at the age of 110 years, 265 days
