Annabelle Holblinger (née Rosenberger; born 16 March 1909) is an American supercentenarian who is the oldest known person living in the U.S. state of Colorado. Her age currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography
Annabelle Holblinger was born in Callicoon, Sullivan County, New York, USA, on 16 March 1909. Her parents were George Rosenberger Sr. and Wilhelmine (née Schubert) Rosenberger. She had six siblings: one of them, Mae Kratz (1911–2015) lived to be 104. Her father lived to be 97.
In 1932, she married Austrian-born Anton Holblinger, an electrical contractor. After the marriage, they moved into a fifth-floor Bronx apartment, and later to a home on Long Island. Holblinger filled the role of both homemaker — with a penchant for baking — and receptionist and occasional radio repairwoman for her husband’s business. Once her daughters became teenagers, Holblinger joined the team at Macy’s, first in the appliance department and later in woman’s clothing. Her husband died in 1996.
Following the death of 111 year-old Hazel Eikermann on 27 August 2019, Holblinger became the oldest known person living in Colorado.
Annabelle Holblinger currently lives in Pueblo West, Pueblo County, Colorado, USA.
