She was the fourth-oldest living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death[1] and was also the oldest living Belgian-born person.
Biography
Born in Brussels, Belgium, on 7 November 1904. Anne had an older brother, Leon (1903–2006), who lived to the age of 102 years, 156 days.[2]
Sister Anne never married, however she recalled that before she became a nun, she had a boyfriend who she thought she would marry. However, she said that "I had to do what I felt God was calling me to do."[2]
She celebrated her 110th birthday in November 2014, and was visited by relatives from Belgium. On her 111th birthday, she was given a rosary, as a gift from Pope Francis. Her birthday wish was "for every person to know happiness."[3]
She died on 12 February 2016 at the age of 111 years, 97 days.[4]
