Annie Blanche Price (12 January 1886 – 26 December 1997) was a British supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Annie Price was born on 12 January 1886 in Cardiff, Wales. She was the eldest of four children. When she married her husband James in 1911, Price sewed her own wedding dress. They moved to southwest England in 1939 when he took a job in the mills at Upper Cam, Gloucestershire. James died in 1953.
When she was 81, Price moved in with her daughter Ivy Vauden in Dundry, Somerset, England. She was forced to go to hospital for the first time in her life at the age of 110 when she fell over and suffered a hairline fracture of the pelvis.
Annie Price died on 26 December 1997 at the age of 111 years, 348 days. At the time of her death, she was the fourth-oldest living person in the UK, after Annie Jennings, Ruby Gilliam, and Eva Morris.
