Anselmo Antonelli (4 August 1912 – 11 January 2022) was a Brazilian centenarian.

Biography[]

Anselmo Antonelli was born in Sao Carlos, Sao Paulo, Brazil on 4 August 1912.

In 1933, he began teaching at the former Industrial School, today Bayeux, where he worked until his retirement. Self-taught, he was invited to give classes in the technical design of furniture and various other items, and was responsible for the production and manufacture of furniture for the former governor of Sao Paulo, Ademar de Barros.

He married Maria Salve in Rio Claro, Sao Paulo in the 1930s. The couple had one daughter: Miriam Antonelli Tomazella.

On 8 February 2021 at the age of 108, he received his COVID-19 vaccine, making him one of oldest people to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Antonelli died from respiratory failure in Rio Claro, Sao Paulo, Brazil on 11 January 2022 at the age of 109 years, 160 days. He was survived by his daughter Miriam Antonelli Tomazella; three grandchildren Eduardo Jose Tomazella, Edson Geraldo Tomazella, and Elizangela Tomazella; and three great-grandchildren Jefferson, Marina, and Alice.
