Antonia Llanes Aiguade [Spanish: Antònia Llanes Aiguadé] (7 March 1912 – 26 October 2022) was a Spanish supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.
Biography[]
Antonia Llanes Aiguade was born in Vilanova de Bellpuig, Catalonia, Spain on 7 March 1912. At the age of 31, she married and had her first daughter in the following year, Maria del Carme. She then had two more children. She had lived in the Comtals district for a few years after the end of the World War II, where she worked as a scavenger in a textile factory.
In March 2022, Llanes Aiguade celebrated her 110th birthday. Fourteen days before her death, she was admitted at Sant Andreu hospital in Manresa because of a health issue.
Antonia Llanes Aiguade died in Manresa, Catalonia, Spain at 3 a.m. on 26 October 2022, at the age of 110 years, 233 days. At the time of her death, she was the third-oldest known living person in Catalonia, behind Maria Branyas Morera and Josefa Aragones Mayoral.
