Apullanalada Ukku [Sinhala: අපුල්ලනලෑ උක්කු] (22 October 1897? – 1 February 2014) was a Sri Lankan longevity claimant.
Biography[]
Apullanalada Ukku claimed to have been born in Bulathgamuwa, Kehelapannala, Kegalle District, Sri Lanka, on 22 October 1897. She had eight children and around 80 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ukku's husband died in 1998 at the claimed age of 111. Her oldest daughter, Yu. G. Sophia [Sinhala: යූ. ජී. සොපියා], was 91 years old in 2014.
Following the death of 116-year-old Jiroemon Kimura on 12 June 2013, Ukku became a claimant for the title of the world’s oldest living person. Some days before her death, she suffered a fall.
Apullanalada Ukku died in Bulathgamuwa, in the city of Kehelapannala, Kegalle District, Sri Lanka on 1 February 2014, at the claimed age of 116 years, 102 days. If her claimed age were validated, she would be the oldest person ever from Sri Lanka.
